Fact & Fiction Magazine
Working with your photography partner design a magazine that pushes the boundaries of magazine design and production. The editorial piece needs to show creativity, vibrancy, style, innovation to make the magazine an art form in its own right. The use of unconventional typography and unusual layouts creates a unique response to the brief, while using a set magazine size, the off-centred, upside-down pieces distort the reader and explores the magazine as an art form.
By exploring the theme of ‘fact or fiction’ the articles and design elements were critical in not only pushing the boundaries of design and photography, but also exploring the questionability of the articles themselves. As a group project, Kayleigh from the photography class interpreted the chosen articles with the use of unconventional photo creation; a mixture of scenography and film. While the typographic and layout treatment of the articles added to the creativity and uniqueness of the magazine.
