FACT&FICTION MAGAZINE
Working with your photography partner, design a magazine that pushes the boundaries of magazine design and production. The editorial piece needs to show creativity, vibrancy, style, innovation to make the magazine an art form in its own right.
The use of unconventional typography setting and unusual layouts creates a unique response to the brief, while using a set magazine size, the off-centred, upside-down pieces distorts the reader as much as the chosen articles, and explores the magazine as an art form.
Exploring the theme of ‘fact or fiction’ it was critical that the articles, design and photography pushed the boundaries of design and photography, but also explored the questionability of the articles themselves. As a group project, my photography partner interpreted the chosen articles and overall theme with the use of unconventional photo creation; a mixture of scanography and film.
