Hi! Nice to meet you.
I’m Zia Benfield. A blue haired individual who loves drinking coffee and has a particular love of all things’ cats, music and organisation. I’m also a graphic designer. I have a profound interest in all aspects of design and I don’t back down from a challenge. I especially enjoy print-based media.

About my branding...
The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is a system where each symbol is associated with a particular English sound – by using the IPA you can know exactly how to pronounce words in English.
My personal brand concentrates on the correct pronunciation of my name. Rather than picking up on my individual identity and using that as the base of my brand (like the others in my class were doing for the Personal Branding project) the idea of using my name was what stood out to me the most because your name is the strongest part of a person’s identity. But especially because of the uniqueness of my own; and I’ve spent a good part of my life ‘correcting’ people on how to pronounce my name.
I was then able to add more of my identity into the brand with the use of colour, branding elements and more. The colour palette of my brand is completely based around my hair colour back in 2018 – when I first coloured my hair “blue” it was more a mixture of green and blue tones, these then became a part of my own identity for a few years simply because of the uniqueness of the colours. As my brand concept grew I started to apply my own minimalistic style, and focus on typography to achieve the dictionary inspired layout that my original idea came from; the IPA.
