Design a 12-inch gatefold sleeve from the given list of artists and their album. The key thing to consider is it needs to be original and well-executed with an imaginative concept. Producing certain imagery for this project was important, by responding to the themes within the albums’ lyrics; the main focus being around death. I used black and white photography of an urban underpass to represent the darkness of the album, pairing this with a sparkler that explored the concept of the common saying of “going into the light”. The typographic treatment demonstrates the experimental nature of Waits’s music.
